Happy “Friday” for your upcoming three-day weekend!
This week, students really dove into this month's theme of Weather. Preschool started filling in a class chart where they are graphing the daily weather, PreK began tracking the weather in individualized weather journals, and KG/1st made their own personal rain gauges. In honor of Veterans Day, not only did students learn about what a veteran is and what the different divisions of the military are, but they made cards for and wrote letters to soldiers. These will be sent off to actual U.S. veterans in the hopes of brightening their day! Additionally this week, we celebrated Siya’s birthday and worked hard on preparing for our upcoming parent presentations and Diwali celebration!
*Don’t forget that in observance of Veterans Day, there will be no school tomorrow, Friday, November 10th.
A few announcements and reminders:
Please read through everything carefully and add dates to your personal calendars.
Monthly teacher e-mails, which review your child’s learning during the month of October, were sent out earlier today. Make sure to read through them carefully and thoroughly as teachers put a lot of time and effort into composing them.
New Scholastic Book Club flyers will be handed out to you today when you pick up your son/daughter. These are special flyers that include books and gifts related to the holiday season. Orders are due Wednesday, November 29th.
Remember, you and family or friends can order books by going to our school’s Scholastic page (https://orders.scholastic.com/326WYH), or by scanning the QR code found on the front of the flyer (it will ask you for our school’s zip code, which is 98053). The page is listed as “Ms. Lawrence’s Classroom” – that is me, Ms. Bayley. Also, for every book you order, Radiance gets points to use towards purchasing its own books and supplies.
Our PTSA-sponsored Diwali celebration is also next week, Friday, November 17th from 3-4pm. PreK will put on a presentation in classroom 1, and preschool & KG/1st will do a combined presentation in classroom 2. We will also have a potluck of Indian sweets, which everyone can enjoy upon the completion of presentations.
Please consider donating (the suggested amount is $20) to PTSA so that they can purchase/ accomplish their current goals. [Refer back to their WhatsApp messages for more information.] You can send money to our PTSA treasurer, Kunal Goel (Kiaan’s dad), via Zelle to +1 425-505-8636 or via Venmo to @KunalGoel2021. He has requested that once you contribute, kindly send him a DM so that he can confirm the transaction.
