Radiance Learning Academy, a Preschool, is dedicated to providing project-based, hands-on learning for curious minds, resulting in outstanding academic achievement for all students. We are a small, upcoming academics-focused preschool with the best teachers-to-student ratio.

We seek a qualified teacher to prepare small children for preschool (Preschool, Pre-K, K or Grade 1) by easing them into organized education. Our teachers will teach them essential elements they will encounter soon after they enter school. A preschool teacher must have great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices, preschool educational methods, and the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the child's healthy mental and emotional development to acclimate to the next level of education. Ideal candidates have experience as a lead teacher, preschool teacher, pre-k teacher, childcare lead teacher, and headstart teacher.

Responsibilities

Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children. Prepare daily and weekly lesson plans to help students meet their learning goals.

Employ various techniques (storytelling, educational play, and media.) to teach children. Actively ensure every student's academic growth by utilizing multiple instructional methods.

Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.

Follow through on routine job responsibilities, including grading, record keeping, attendance, and lesson planning.

Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.

Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, and do crafts)

Organize and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times

Track children's progress and report to parents

Communicate with parents effectively and professionally on a weekly and as-needed basis.

Collaborate with other educators.

Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards. Keep the classroom neat and pleasant in appearance all the time.

Attend school events outside regular school hours, including, but not limited to: Parent/teacher conferences, curriculum night, art performances, student socials, open houses, & professional development sessions.

Keep classroom and hallway bulletin boards looking fresh and inviting

Positively support the school's policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organization

Able to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideas

Flexible and adaptable in dealing with new, different, or changing requirements

Simple daily housecleaning duties in the assigned classroom

Hold self and others accountable to accomplish results

Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal information regarding children, families, and staff

Effective in handling multiple concurrent tasks

Skills:

Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher

Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

Excellent communication and instructional skills

Ability to act as a mediator between children.

Ability to be a model for students with respectful, helpful, and collaborative behaviors.

Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable

A balance between a creative mind and a practical insight

Strong organizational and time management skills

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in education, science, or arts from a four-year College or University in the USA is required. An associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education combined with other degrees can also be considered.

  • A teaching Certificate or combination of equivalent education or experience is preferred.

  • Proof of work towards appropriate WA ECE certificates is required

  • Consistent teaching experience for two years with children of similar age groups is preferred

  • The endorsement in desired subject or grade level preferred

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

  • Pre-employment background check is required.

  • Strong desire to support and engage in the school community

  • Being onsite between 8:45 am - 4:15 pm Monday-Friday is a must.

  • Merit / STAR ID is required.

  • Able to lift 40lbs, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor with ease

  • Certification in child CPR

  • Negative TB test Documentation

  • Able to maintain WA state licensing requirements: CPR/First Aid, Food Handlers, Blood Borne Pathogens, Proof of MMR & TB, 30 hrs. basic training/10 hrs. yearly
