Weekly Report: 5/15/2023 - 5/19/2023
We hope you’re staying cool with all this warm weather. The kids have really been enjoying the sunshine, but they also really appreciate our AC when they come in from the heat!
This week, students witnessed their caterpillar class pets emerge from their chrysalises as transformed butterflies. The preschoolers did a fun counting activity with beads and pipe cleaners, and the PreK and kindergarten students did an online simulation-experiment to determine the effects of various conditions on plant growth. For example, they tested different temperatures, amounts of water, and sunlight on a plant’s health. Here’s the link to the website: https://www.sciencekids.co.nz/gamesactivities/plantsgrow.html
A few announcements and reminders:
Talent shows happen the last week of May/first week of June. Make sure that your child is practicing his/her performance at home. We will be checking their progress next Friday, May 26th with school-wide rehearsals.
Positive news! We have 2 more drivers signed up to help us with the field trip to Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo on Friday, June 9th:
Aryan’s dad and Ayat’s dad. Thank you, gentlemen! This means we need just one more driver. With our current volunteers being parents of preschool and kindergarten students, we are asking a PreK parent to please volunteer as our final driver.
Make sure that Graduation Day, Wednesday, June 14th, is in your calendar! Remember that you will need to pick up your kids at 1pm to transport them over to the Redmond Ridge community center.
If you would like to help us prepare for some summer camp arts & crafts, please collect and donate any of the following items:
Please remember that the earliest drop-off time for school is 8:50am. Our staff arrives at 8:45 and needs some time to settle in and get ready. Thanks.
